World number one Gerywn Price produced two outstanding perfect legs against James Wade and Michael Van Gerwen just 6 weeks after his maiden televised 9 darter against Michael Smith in a World Championship quarter final tie back in January.

The Welshman beat the latter of the three in his first game of the night 6–3, despite Smith showing fight with a 144 checkout in the 7th leg and just narrowly missing double 15 for a 150 checkout in what turned out to be the final leg of the match. Price then nailed 170 in the 9th leg to leave Michael still without a win in the Premier League so far.

With Van Gerwen also seeing off Cullen in Round 1 6–3, him and Price met in the semi finals of the night where price hit a 177, 180 and a 144 checkout to put the Belfast crowd into absolute ecstasy.

Price then attempted another 9 darter attempt in the deciding 11th leg at 5–5, hitting 7 perfect darts before falling short at the treble 20. With Van Gerwen well out of sight, he finished off with a 56 checkout to send himself through to the final.

Going into the final, Price played James Wade in both of their first final appearances in this years Premier League. Price came out on top in 4 of their last 5 matches against each other and he prevailed again despite James Wade being absolutely fantastic on the checkouts once again. Price again sent the Belfast crowd mental, with two 180’s in a row and hitting a 141 to make Premier League history.

Gerwyn went on to win the match 6–4, winning his first Premier League night of the term and sending him 2nd in the table above Peter Wright on leg difference.
